General questions
What kind of events does Circle+ organise?
From Studio Visits and Collection Visits to Masterclasses and Salons, we take you into every corner of the art world. Discover our upcoming events here and read more about The Circle and the types of events we organise here.
Who is Circle+ for?
Circle+ is for emerging and established collectors who want to develop their collection further, with the personal help of experts. It is not age-related and is open to anyone for whom art and collecting are part of life, or who would like them to be.
Is Circle+ also a good fit if I do not have an art collection yet?
Yes. Circle+ is also designed for those who want to start collecting and would like guidance along the way. We help you understand how to build and deepen a collection, which art resonates with you and what to pay attention to.
What sets The Circle apart from other art platforms?
We are not just here to help you discover art, but also to support you in your collecting journey. We take you behind the scenes to speak with collectors, artists, galleries and auction houses so that you’re not just looking at art, you’re effectively learning to understand it and perhaps even acquire it. In addition to exclusive access to the international art world, our Circle+ members receive personal advice on building their art collection, art concierge service, exclusive programs at unique venues and VIP access to art fairs and openings. Also, Circle+ members receive a quarterly update on trends and developments in the art market. Last but not least, as a member of Circle+ you contribute to a healthy art world: all income from Circle+ benefits the development of new public programs. This is how we build your collection and a thriving art world together!
Am I required to purchase art as a Circle+ member?
No. Circle+ is about insight, context and guidance. Whether and when you decide to acquire an artwork is always entirely up to you.
Which language is used most commonly?
Most events are in Dutch. When international members or speakers join the event, we will switch to English. Each event listing will show you which language will be used.
Are the events suitable for beginners?
Yes. Whether you are just starting out or already built a collection, we offer programmes for every level. For more experienced members, there are in-depth formats such as Salons, Studio Visits, Fair Visits and private collection visits.
Am I expected to buy something during a Studio Visit, Fair Visit or Gallery Tour?
No, certainly not. A Studio Visit is meant to offer a relaxed introduction to an artist’s working process. Fair Visits and Gallery Tours focus on looking and developing your taste. You should never feel obliged to make a purchase. But if you fall in love with an artwork, or with the story behind it, you are of course welcome to acquire it.
Are events only organised in the Netherlands and Belgium?
No. We also organise online events and trips to international art fairs and various art destinations such as London, Paris and Venice. Please note that our travel programme comes with additional costs. You can find more information here.
